The General Nam I-heung Culture Festival is held every September, with a wide variety of events taking place including an archery competition, a youth essay contest, a demonstration of traditional martial arts, a ssireum (Korean wrestling) competition, a taekkyen demonstration and a performance by a military band. The aim is to honor the admirable spirit of patriotism shown by Chungjanggong Nam I-heung, who quelled the Revolt of Yi Gwal and sacrificed his life during Jeongmyohoran (The First Manchu Invasion).
